Defence Industry Commission

Recently there's been a lot of news about the new defence industry commission of Iraq.

So I decided to take a look. The Head of the Commission Mohammed Al Daraji claims that they're producing and selling weapons at a far lower price than imports.

In particular he mentioned in one interview that the prices of their pistols were very low...

so I looked at some news they published last year here...
https://dici.gov.iq/en/post/military-in ... 2-09-15-76

They're advertising a pistol they sold to the Lawyers in Iraq for self protection. They sold them for 1.25M dinars ($900).

However the "Babylon" pistol is simply a rebadged NORINCO CF-98 which retails for about $250 if bought directly from NORINCO.

Daraji also mentioned the artillery pieces he's selling to the Iraqi army. They're refurbished D-30s... and he's complaining that the army prefers to import artillery pieces for $1M+... However most of the artillery that's operated by the Iraqi army today is either refurbished weapons from the old army or free gifts from USA and Bulgaria?

PS. For all the "tactical" various Facebook groups. I'd appreciate if you would link back and acknowledge where you got this information from.
