Re: Ah-64 Apache
AH-64D APACHE Block III LONGBOW

no. you are slightly wrong here.
Iraqi lifecycle cost for the 24 BLOCK III apaches will be $4.8Bn which is $200M per unit
South Korea also ordered 36 BLOCK III apaches for $3.6Bn which is $100M per unit (HALF THE PRICE!)
http://www.defencetalk.com/south-korea- ... ers-44781/
they also bought weapons, training support.... etc...
Iraq is also "loaning" 6x apaches for $1.37Bn! I am presuming this loan period is maybe for 2-3 years max... if the helos each fly about 30 hours per month... that is about 7200 flying hours for $1.37Bn... take away $200M for armaments, about $150,000 per flying hour... excluding fuel cost presumably !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
actually for the price that Iraq "loans" 6x apaches. India last year BOUGHT 22 brand new apaches!!!

The loaning contract includes the purchase of 152 AGM-114 K-A Hellfire missiles. ;)
Re: Ah-64 Apache

Re: Ah-64 Apache

Re: Ah-64 Apache

Re: Ah-64 Apache
jesus bloody christ.
the price of those apaches.
30 planes in total.
$4.8Bn + $1.4Bn = $6.2Bn
What could Russia sell Iraq for $6.2Bn ?
500x T90MS tanks ($6M x 500 = $3Bn)
20x SU-35S = ($120M x 20 = $2.4Bn)
16x Mi28NE = ($50M x 16 = $0.8Bn)
which would you pick?
The Block III apache has features like controling a UAV that the Iraqis won't be cleared to own in the first place! it has a lot of systems like blue force tracking and other warfighting systems that the Iraqis don't possess for their ground forces (nor will they ever)... meaning that it becomes basically a Mi28Ne equivelant but with LESS armour!!!
deal after deal. shocking waste of public funds from the MOD. absolutely shocking. and they complain that they don't have enough funds to fill out their tank and artillery units. If they bloody well spent the money wisely they'd have more than enough to equip the army and air force handsomely!!
thieving retards. I bet 65% of the Apache contract money ends up in State of Law coffers kick backed to them by LM via some offshore LM owned trusts...

Re: Ah-64 Apache
We know now that the lease contract includes the hospitality of so many in the 5 stars service!
The training part of the deal, which involves the lease of six Apaches and assorted equipment to train Iraqi pilots, is estimated to be worth $1.37 billion. This portion of the sale would require that “1 U.S. Government and 67 contractor representatives” would be based in Iraq “on an as-needed basis to provide support and technical reviews,” today’s release said.
The helicopter sale and eventual shipment would require that “three U.S. Government and two hundred contractor representatives” would be based in Iraq, with another team of 12 personnel — one military and 11 contractors — would deploy to Iraq for three years to oversee training.

Hayder--You always say (and I agree) that the $$ figures provided by DSCA are just an estimate. What's the difference this time?
