BR-VZ-128 mm aircraft rocket family is consisting of two basic models:
BR-VZ-128 mm KUM M80 with HEAT warhead, and
BR-VZ-128 mm with HE warhead.
Rockets are intended for launching from a four barrel L-128-04 rocket launcher which is suitable for for readily adaptible to any fixed or rotary wing aircraft capable of carrying such payloads and provided with weapon release units of 250 mm to 355.6 mm (14 –inch NATO STANDARD) hook spacing. Launchers are equipped with electrical trigering system activated by pilot or Weapon System Operator. we can see that the effective range of the rockets is very short, compared to the russian S13 rockets.
Making these suitable only against targets which cant defend themselves.
if we compare the serbian 128mm to the russian 122mm S13...

the russian rocket has the following advantages:
1- 5 rockets per launcher instead of 4
2- effective range is 3000m which is double the serbian rocket
3- The more recent S-13DF fuel air variant of the russian rocket has higher explosive power and a 6km range!
in my view, against daesh the S-13DF would have been the best choice. offering 4x the range of the BR-VZ-128 as well as at least 2-3x the explosive power.
But perhaps accuracy at such a range becomes an issue? It may very well be that the BR-VZ is much cheaper and more accurate than the S-13... which is why it was accepted.
