Wessex helicopters were obtained by Iraq is a British-made and not American,and it's well known Westland Wessex S 58, MK-52 an export version and Iraqi AF was received 12 aircrafts, in the period from 1964 to 1965, according to the book Warpaint .No.-65 Westland Wessex. In the picture below concerning the Iraqi aircrafts. And from your link also the see Iraq was received 12 but without any details.

I think they should have been replaced by the BK-117 helicopter in the SAR role in the mid 1980s.

I think in the mid-seventies of the last century or shortly thereafter. It was then that the rumors of Iraq offer these aircrafts for sale to the Oman and Kenya, but has not achieved anything in this regard. Perhaps the reason taken out of service was the difficulty in obtaining spare parts necessary to operate and provide more helicopters alternative. Personally, I tend Iraq used these aircrafts as medium-lift helicopters and was not a plane for SAR roles.
