I wonder if Iraq will now buy a few naval helicopters?

I mean they have platforms for several helicopters now including :

2x on the corvettes
1x On the Shams Picket ship
2x on the offshore ports

So I would have thought buying 5-6 naval helicopters would be a good idea.

They would be useful for SAR, observation, Anti Ship warfare, over the horizon targeting, transport and special forces insertion etc...

أظن ان أفضل الحلول و أقلها كلفة هو أستخدام طائرات مسيرة بدلا من الهليوكوبتر مثل سكاي أيغل أوغيرها رغم محدودية أدوار هذه الطائرات المسيرة و أقتصارها على ادوار المراقبة والأستطلاع فيما الهليوكوبتر لها مهام متعددة على ظهر السفن
لاحظ على سبيل المثال ان البحرية السنغافورية أجرت عملية تطوير لزوارقها الحربية من طراز فكتوري بأستخدام السكان أيغل

The two corvettes have been delivered in June 2017.
By the dockship 'Eide Trader', to Basra.

I read somewhere, can't remember exactly the source, that Iraq did buy 2 engines for the corvettes from Germany. Anyway, this ship looks in bad shape, do we know if they're actually sailing?

they are not sailing anywhere... just moored in umm qasr.

like I mentioned before Iraq's navy needs a modern naval helo very very badly.

they don't even have a proper naval search and rescue helicopter. not a single one!

أظنها مجرد تسوية لانهاء مسألة تواجد هذه السفن في المياه الآيطالية لهذا نقلت على علاتها الى العراق

لماذا لا يتم ادخالها الي الأحواض الجافه في البصره لصيانتها وتجديدها ؟ اعتقد ان العراق لديه الخبره الكافيه في اصلاح وتجديد السفن.

نعم... من المفروض ان يتم هذا لدينا المقدرة والأمكانيات والكوادر... لكن العين بصيرة و اليد قصيرة مع الفساد وحيتانه
