Could this possibly be what Hassan Sineid was talking about when he mentioned a plane modified to be a "fighter" will be flying next week??

Here is a comment published in defenseindustrydaily.com site about Iraqi parliamentary security and defense committee chair Hassan Sinead had an interesting teaser for us all.
“The next week will see the flight of military aircraft to Iraq since 2003, as part of our national armament efforts for the protection of Iraqi airspace.” Sinead did not mention any other details about the quality of the aircraft, saying only: “you will see next week.”
DJ Elliott, who compiles the Iraqi Order of Battle, had these thoughts regarding the possibilities:
1.Mirage F1s in storage in France.
2.Obsolete MiGs in Serbia
3.Iran returning some Fighters [unlikely]
4.Salvage [unlikely]
5.Loaned from US
6.Not a “Fighter” but instead just a Jet [E.G. the Czech L159s? This is my bet.]
DID agrees with his top-odds pick. The deal has been in the works for some time, and L-159s are just the next step up from Iraq’s fielded T-6 trainers, but they can carry a wide array of aerial and ground attack weapons. We see stored Mirage F1s as the 2nd most likely option, since there may be Iraqi pilots who have flown them before, and this is a critical requirement for a true stopgap. Loaned F-16s from the USA are certainly possible, with the proviso that pilot training requirements mean they won’t be effective for a year or so. The one “instant delivery” option we might add is a loan from Gulf Cooperation Council countries: a handful of Mirage 2000-9s from UAE (same issues as F-16), or retiring Tornado F3 Air Defense Variant fighters from Saudi Arabia. The latter could even come with Saudi pilots in one of the fighter’s 2 seats; it wouldn’t be the first time foreign pilots have flown for a Mideast air force.

DID was so out of touch with reality to suggest Saudi Arabia might even think about this option. The hate between king Abdallah and PM Maliki is personal and visceral. They have both given up on each other since their failed one-on-one meeting a couple years ago....or retiring Tornado F3 Air Defense Variant fighters from Saudi Arabia. The latter could even come with Saudi pilots in one of the fighter’s 2 seats; it wouldn’t be the first time foreign pilots have flown for a Mideast air force.

second an32B arrived in baghdad and the head of the air force said that an Iraqi inspection comittee just came back from Ukraine where they accepted the third and fourth aircraft which will arrive in the next few weeks. The last two aircraft will arrive before summer time.

حسب وزارة الدفاع التي تصنف الطائرة على أنها طائرة نقل متوسطة وكما في الخبر المنشور والذي اورده وكما يلي
الطائرة الانتينوف قد جرى اختيارها من قبل قيادة القوة الجوية كخيار من بين عدة أنواع من الطائرات لحاجة الجيش العراقي لطائرات نقل متوسطة حديثة لنقل القطعات والقيادات والشخصيات المهمة أثناء العمليات ولعدم تيسر مثل هذا النوع في أسطول القوة الجوية والذي يقتصر حاليا على الطائرات التي منحت من قبل القوات الأمريكية ومن نوع
(C-130)
القديمة جداً لذا كانت الحاجة ماسة للتعاقد على طائرات نقل حديثة ومتطورة ووقع
الاختيار على الطائرة الانتينوف لأسباب عديدة وسبق وان استخدمت أجيال سابقة منها في أسطول القوة الجوية العراقية ولدينا طيارين ومهندسين يجيدون العمل عليها وهي طائرة مجربة في هذا الاختصاص ومنتشرة في دول عديدة وقد أثبتت كفاءة عالية إضافة إلى ملاحظة سعر الكلفة ووقت التجهيز ونوعية وجودة الصناعة والتي حددت في العقد بشكل واضح وصريح والذي تنص بنوده الأولية على أن تكون الطائرة بكافة أجزائها من موديل 2009 فما فوق...

وعادة ما يتم تصنيف طائرات النقل حسب حمولتها او مداها الى طائرات نقل متوسطة او ثقيلة او خفيفة
وطائرة الانتونف-32 يمكنها نقل نحو من 50 جندي أو 40 مظلي أو حمولة قصوى لغاية 13 طن لمدى 1100 كم

يعني على اساس هذا الكلام هي طائرة عمليات خاصة تنفذ مهام محددة .

ليس بالضرورة فهي ناقل أي الطائرة يمكنها نقل أي وحدات ، أفراد ، معدات ، مؤن أو تجهيزات الى مسافات متوسطة خلف خطوط الجبهة أو داخل الدولة لكن يتعين أنزالها أما بالمظلات او في مطارات او رقع هبوط غير مجهزة يمكن ان تستخدمها لنقل قوات خاصة ، هيئة ركن، مستشفى طبي...او حتى فريق للمشجعين هذا يعتمد على الحاجة الانية التي تتطلب هذا الموقف او ذاك
